Information

In China, the authorities have pushed hydroblasting since 2019. Ship repair yards feared that hydroblasting would be expensive and that the coating manufacturers and inspectors would not accept it, hence not providing the necessary backing.
Now a few years later the largest ship repair market has embraced hydroblasting (especially RobotPlusPlus solutions), why?

Hydroblasting can be very cost-effective with robots, up to 40% cheaper for a total cost of ownership:
- Reduced waste and consistent work
- Saving resources and dock time
- Improved safety

RobbotPlusPlus delivers on its promise and offers top-of-the-class support with an engineering team that pushes the limit with new products and tweaks on the smallest parts to enhance the lifespan and reduce the OPEX, and the operational teams that conduct everyday operations so they know the equipment, the job and can support our client remotely or on-site.

Yet, Abrasive blasting is still important but when there is no major corrosion it is not necessary to recreate the profile, the coating has preserved the original one. Hydroblasting reveals it, and removes grease and salt, allowing a smooth new coating. Plus water can be filtered and reused.

Abrasive generates lots of waste but it still has a purpose, let's just use the technique better and with robots too.

But dont trust us, trust the experts:

From Chen Zhen COSCO SHIPPING Lines:
“The robots and the after-sales services you provided have been keys to our transition to hydroblasting. We embarked win it with resistance as we were accustomed to the use of manual labor and abrasive blasting which we thought were cost-efficient and offering good results. Your first demonstration and now our full implementation have shown us that robotic hydroblasting offers an even better cost efficiency and that the surface preparation is excellent as consistently approved by coating inspectors, manufacturers, and ship owners. So you changed our mind”

From Zhou Yi, Yuhe Marine
“The skilled team is very responsible and put themselves in our shoes. […] Even during hot summer and freezing cold winter, the team and the robots are on duty. […] Wherever our operators have any issues, the team will patiently explain the correct and safe way [ …] which makes great contributions to our precious dock period ….”

From Liang Bin, Huarun Dadong Dockyard Co., Ltd.
“Prior to using RobotPlusPlus, we have been using abrasive blasting and manual labor to complete the tasks. Your equipment’s efficiency and reliability have allowed us to reassign resources and lead to significant savings in time and money. Thanks to the use of the robots, we reduced our TRI which used to be of great concern for these activities.
During the operation, your team has helped us to solve issues quickly and optimize OPEX to ensure the right balance between cost and efficiency”
